Motor and Household Pricing Analyst - Fareham

Reporting to the Pricing and Product Manager, the successful individual will analyse the UK PL portfolios to ensure that the planned premium income and return on capital requirements are at least achieved. This role will include extensive liaison with other members of the UKGI Pricing and Underwriting Department and other areas of UK PL (eg Finance, Business Change and IT, Operations, Marketing and Development). Key responsibilities will include directing the collation of information, analysis and commentary on the underwriting performance and profitability of the UK PL portfolio at both an overall and segmented level, in accordance with agreed key performance indicators. The Personal Lines Pricing Analyst will take responsibility of the identification and recommendation of pricing/underwriting/product changes and subsequently communicate these changes to senior management and wider business areas, and ultimately monitor the effectiveness of the changes once implemented. Analysis of any new business opportunities and tender proposals, putting forward underwriting propositions to the UK PL Pricing and Product Manager, will also form part of this role.

Candidates must have experience in the pricing/underwriting of business obtained from the Personal Lines market and skills in the underwriting /pricing and negotiation of Home/Motor scheme arrangements. Experience of market tools to assess premium competitiveness, experience in market pricing analysis and techniques and basic understanding of the financial dynamics of profitability models (ie risk premium, expenses, return on capital requirements and the like) are also fundamental to this role. Candidates will have a good understanding of the principles and practice of personal lines insurance and have a preference for study towards professional qualifications (ACII / Actuarial).
