SME Combined Underwriter - Croydon

An opportunity has arisen to join an existing Commercial Property/Casualty Underwriting team based in Surrey for Property/Casualty Underwriters focussing on writing risks within the SME market. As an experienced Underwriter you will provide both new business and renewal underwriting with a focus on the new business ensuring broker relationships are forged and developed. The role will involve ensuring that the relevant technical standards and controls are adhered to and assistance provided with the development and mentorship of more junior members of the team. These are excellent opportunities for experienced Underwriters wishing to develop and progress their career, given the authority and autonomy to develop new business as well as contribute to retaining existing business utilising market expertise.

Candidates will need to have gained previous experience within a commercial underwriting capacity with strong property and /or casualty line of business experience, together with good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a varied workload. Ideally candidates will have started or be progressing towards obtaining professional qualifications although this is not essential as full support will be provided. The company are offering a comprehensive suite of training and development courses to support future career prospects which includes full support with obtaining ACII.
